How excited I was to hear that I have just received an Award from the International Wedding Photojournalists Association – WPJA – for the last Quarter of 2016. As an Award Winning Wedding Photographer Jenny has a real passion for creativity and she tries to bring a fresh eye to all her work. She loves pictures that aren’t staged and have a quirkiness to them. She finds things happen when she has a camera in her hand. The best pictures are those that take themselves, she just happen to be there with the camera! (That is why she always has a camera with her)
Jenny has always loved art. Initially she studied Graphic Design in Plymouth. Gaining an awarded place in the internationally recognised RoSPA competition for her poster design. She also obtained membership of the Society for Typographic Design. Jenny followed a career within the advertising industry.
She then went from being a designer to studying as an artist and spent 4 years at the University of Exeter obtaining a BA in French and Fine Art spending a year in Nantes, France. This is where her passion for linking science and art with a love of journalism started to take shape. She spent time at the Regional Newspaper L’Ouest France with a project. However, the biggest longterm project that spanned 3 years was on the investigation of “What is Love” for which she gained a First Class result. Interesting as Jenny now photographs Weddings which are all about Love!
Following the completion of her Degree Jenny spent time at a local newspaper and trained & worked as an editorial press photographer. She also qualified for the NCTJ – industry recognised course. She has been published in The Times, Daily Express, Daily Mirror, local newspapers and other national and local magazine publications.
Jenny now works as a full-time Award Winning Wedding Photographer having spent some years as Associate to one of the Top UK and Internationally recognised Wedding Photographers. She recently took over Plum Tree Studios and has been privileged to win an Award with the prestigious international – Wedding Photojournalist Association WPJA. She absolutely loves her work which allows her to meet different people. She is a real people person and is also very passionate about animals and the environment. So, you will see that she now offers herself as a Vegan Photographer if you happen to want someone that fits in with your ethics.
She is willing to travel and has worked all over the UK and particularly in London. She has travelled abroad to Portugal and Amsterdam to photograph Weddings. She has been privileged to photograph a wide range of cultures – from Asian, Sikh, Jewish, Hindu, Humanist as well as Christian, Same Sex and inter religious backgrounds.
